Where are you from?
I grew up in Lower Merion and currently live in Center City, Philadelphia!
Where/what are you currently teaching?
I teach Kindergarten at Friends School Haverford
What are 3 words to describe you?
Thoughtful, compassionate, dedicated
If you could learn any skill/hobby what would it be?
I would love to learn more about photography. I really enjoy taking pictures and documenting my life in that way. It would be neat to learn more skills involved with photography, like learning about landscape photography, lighting, backgrounds, which lenses to use and more!
Tell us something that may surprise us about you!
I collect elephants! Ever since I was younger, I have been fascinated with elephants and think they are the most wonderful creatures. I love how unique looking they are compared to other animals. They have a great memory, show emotion and the female elephants are the leaders! I don’t collect elephants as much as I used to, but people always send me pictures of elephants or gift me things elephant related!
If you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you do?
It depends! Some days I am really busy so I would probably use 30 minutes of free time to just relax! Maybe watch TV, listen to a podcast or call a friend! If I am less busy I would probably use 30 minutes of free time to go for a run or do a workout!
What is the best place you’ve traveled to?
My favorite place I have traveled to is Singapore. Singapore was the most unique place I have ever visited and was a really neat blend of city, rural and coastal life. The food was amazing, the people were so friendly and the sites were unbelievable. My favorite part was visiting the Singapore Zoo. The zoo is set in a rainforest and gives you the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat. It was such a cool experience!
If you could spend time with anyone who would it be?
I would love to spend time with Greta Thunberg. Greta is only 17 years old and she is changing the world! How cool is that? She is standing up for something she believes in, and I admire her for that. She is teaching people about how to take care of earth, and it hasn’t been easy. I would love to talk to her about how she keeps going even when things get hard. I feel like I could learn so much from her! Taking care of the earth is something that I am passionate about, so spending time with an expert would be very cool.
What advice do you have for kids struggling in school?
You are not alone! Even if it may not seem like it, many kids struggle in school and that is okay! It is okay to feel frustrated, but it is also important to never stop trying or give up! Always work hard and know that putting in your best effort is what is most important. Remember, your teachers, families and tutors are here to help and support you!
