Where are you from?
Where/what are you currently teaching?
I teach at Upper Darby School District! I am a Special Education / Learning Support Teacher
What are 3 words to describe you?
Caring, flexible, and bubbly
If you could learn any skill/hobby what would it be?
Since we have been in quarantine I have picked up gardening, I am very excited for my flowers to sprout! I am also learning Spanish – I hope to be able to hold a conversation in Spanish!
Tell us something that may surprise us about you!
I have a 150lb Great Dane named Bruno! He is 4 years old and a big couch potato.
If you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you do?
I really love yoga, if I get some free time I like to do a quick yoga class. If I have enough time to go to a class in the studio, I will always pick a hot yoga class.
What is the best place you’ve traveled to?
My favorite country that I’ve visited is Spain! I have been to both Barcelona and Madrid. I love the cafe culture in Spain. There is nothing better to me than sitting outside of a cafe and drinking a delicious cafe con leche 🙂
How do you spend your summers?
I usually spend my summers working and relaxing! Last year, I was a Middle School Autistic Support teacher for my school district’s Extended School Year program – I absolutely loved it! I hope to do the same this year. I also plan to spend a lot of time in New York with my new nephew, Jack!
If you could spend time with anyone who would it be?
My family! I haven’t seen them in so long since we have been quarantined at home. I cannot wait to reunite with them again. Especially my nephew who I haven’t been able to meet yet! I am really looking forward to some good quality time with them :-).
What advice do you have for kids struggling in school?
Do not give up! I have been there, I struggled when I was in grade school. Try your best and be proud of yourself! Any progress is great progress. Set a small / manageable goal for yourself each week or month, study, and track your progress (for example; learn 3 new sight words or solve 5 math problems independently) you will see how far you can go with a little practice! Believe in yourself 🙂
